Standards in Public Office Commission - Contact Information

The Standards in Public Office Commission (the Standards Commission) has a supervisory role under

1) The Ethics in Public Office Acts 1995 and 2001 (the Ethics Acts);
2) The Electoral Act 1997, as amended (the Electoral Acts); and
3) The Oireachtas (Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices) (Amendment) Act 2001 (Party Leaders Allowance legislation).

Requests for Advice

The Standards Commission may give advice under the Ethics Acts and the Electoral Acts. The Standards Commission is required to respond within 21 days of receipt of a request for advice either by providing the advice or by notifying the person making the request of its decision to decline to do so.

Requests for accessible services

In accordance with section 26(2) of the Disability Act 2005, the Standards Commission has appointed Mr. Aidan Moore as its "access officer". As access officer, Aidan is reponsible for providing or arranging for and co-ordinating assistance and guidance to persons with disabilities accessing services provided by the Standards Commission and generally to act as a point of contact for people with disabilities wishing to access such services.
