Appendix 7 - Parties with no accounting units during 2002

The appropriate officers of the following parties advised that the party in question had no accounting units during 2002:

  • Christian Democrats
  • South Kerry Independent Alliance
  • The Green Party

In the absence of a reply from the appropriate officers of the following parties, the parties in question are deemed not to have had any accounting units during 2002:

  • Christian Solidarity Party
  • Communist Party
  • Socialist Party
  • Socialist Workers Party *
  • Workers Party

* Arising from correspondence with the political parties in relation to branches in third level institutions, the appropriate officer of the Socialist Workers Party wrote to the Standards Commission on 11 November 2003 to advise that the Socialist Workers Party does not have any branches in third level institutions. The appropriate officer confirmed that there are socialist workers student societies in a number of third level institutions, but that they are not branches of the party - see Part 7 of this report for further details.
