Part 3. Donation Statements and Statutory Declarations received in respect of 2002 from persons who were TDs, Senators or MEPs during 2002

The Standards Commission drew up a Donation Statement and Statutory Declaration form for each person who was a TD, Senator or MEP during 2002.

The form was issued in early January 2003, for completion and return to the Standards Commission by 31 January 2003.

A total of 308* Donation Statements and Statutory Declarations were received by the Standards Commission as follows :

166 members of Dáil Éireann

60 members of Seanad Éireann

15 representatives in the European Parliament.

Senator Avril Doyle, MEP, and Deputy Proinsias De Rossa, MEP, in their Donation Statements referred to their dual mandates.

43 former members of Dáil Éireann

24* former members of Seanad Éireann

*At the time of going to print with this report, a Donation Statement and Statutory Declaration had not been received from former Senator Madeleine Taylor Quinn. It is an offence to fail to furnish a Donation Statement and Statutory Declaration to the Standards Commission. A number of letters issued to the former Senator which reminded her of this fact. In the absence of a reply, the Standards Commission has referred the matter to An Garda Síochána for investigation.

The Standards Commission was not notified of receipt of any anonymous donations valued in excess of €126.97.

Details of Donation Statements in which at least one donation was disclosed are provided at Tables 1 - 18, attached.

The other Donation Statements received did not disclose any donations.
