Press release regarding gifts/loans to An Taoiseach in 1993/1994

The Standards in Public Office Commission (Standards Commission) has completed its consideration of complaints from two members of the public about the acceptance by An Taoiseach, Mr Bertie Ahern of loans/gifts from groups of businessmen in 1993/1994. It has decided that there is no basis on which to initiate an investigation under the Ethics in Public Office Acts 1995 and 2001.

The Standards Commission will not be issuing any further statement or making any further comment.
