10. Deductions

Section 40(a) of the Act provides that, where the national agent of a qualified political party overspends at a Dáil or European election, the Minister for Finance will, on the recommendation of the Standards Commission, deduct an amount equal to the overspend from any amount which may be payable, or become payable, to the party under the Act.
