9. Inspection of documents furnished to the Standards Commission
The Standards Commission is required to lay a copy of each Donation Statement and statutory declaration before both Houses of the Oireachtas. The material will be retained at the Office of the Standards Commission for a period of three years and will be available for public inspection and copying. Details of donations disclosed by political parties are published on the website of the Standards Commission
As stated in part 7, the Standards Commission will retain the statements from financial institutions and Certificates of Monetary Donations and will not disclose the contents thereof, unless ordered by a court to do so or where disclosure is required in connection with an investigation held by the Standards Commission.
