Review of Legislation

Although the Standards Commission does not have a statutory function to review the legislation it supervises, it is asked from time to time to provide observations on the legislation or on matters within its remit.  The following are some examples of where the Standards Commission has provided commentary on the legislation it supervises or on matters within its remit.

• December 2007 - Presentation to Joint Oireachtas Committee on the role of the Standards Commission at elections
• September 2007 - Submission to the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government concerning spending limits at local elections
• December 2003 - Review of Electoral Acts
