Nil Statements
In the eighth edition of the guidelines for public servants on compliance with the Ethics Acts, the Standards Commission withdrew its previous recommendation that, where a person has no interests to disclose, he/she should furnish a 'nil' statement. Where such a person has no interests to disclose, a statement is not legally required.
Forms which are used by TDs and Senators for disclosing their registrable interests under the Ethics Acts are produced by the respective Clerks of Dáil and Seanad Éireann. They are available on the "Disclosing Interests/Members' Statement of Registrable Interests forms" section of this website.
