Donations disclosed pursuant to section 24(1A) of the Electoral Acts

Requirements of section 24(1A) of the Electoral Act, 1997 as amended ("the Act").

Section 24(1A) of the Act (as introduced by section 6 of the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 1998) provides that a Donation Statement must be furnished to the Standards in Public Office Commission (the Standards Commission) not later than 31 January in any year by a person who has made donations for political purposes exceeding an aggregate value of €5,078.95 during the preceding calendar year:

  1. to two or more persons who, when the donations were made, were members of the same political party, or
  2. to a political party and to one or more persons who were members of that political party when the donations were made to them.

The provisions of section 24(1A) applied from 31st March 1998.  The following are details of the Donation Statements furnished to the Standards Commission since 2002.  Details of Donation Statements furnished between 1998 and 2002 can be made available on request.



2002.

Two Donation Statements were received in respect of 2002.  Details of the donations made were contained in a report which the Standards Commission furnished to the Ceann Comhairle.  Links to the relevant parts of the report are contained below.

2003.
